Card catch up!

Good evening friends, followers and visitors. I've been behind with taking photo's of my finished projects... Oops! Then again life does tend to happen! (11 month old daughter with 9 teeth... still in shock)

I took advantage of my members gift from create and craft and got the craft-work card kit with candi and made these cards! I can't remember when I ordered it now either!

I made both cards using kraft card and simple layouts to make them stand out. I took advantage of another offer on create and craft with the dreamees gorgeous girls cd collection. I absolutely love this cd, you get plain digi images and ready coloured so you get a choice of both! Oh and some nice papers and accessories.

The result was this card. Trimmed with lace and pearls highly inspired by the dreamees girls themselves. I have used dreamees flower stamps too!

Next we have a mothering Sunday card made with a swiss pixie stamp... I accidentally came across these cute images via pinterest and saved an image thinking it was free when it wasn't. That really made me mad so I purchased the stamps instead. I strongly disagree with stealing any art work for other use apart from personal. Anyway I have teamed this stamp up with some stamps by Chloe petal stamps and a dreamees sentiment stamp. Sometimes it's good to mix and match across your stamp range then the results are endless. Your imagination is the limit!

Here's another Mothering Sunday card using the same image alongside the petal stamp. This is a cute but simple card finished with some faux string pearls (I love string pearls)

Last but not least! This card is my design card for my dear friend Emma. She made the digital image herself and asked me to colour, make a card and give her feedback... Guess what I LOVE this image. It was easy to follow to colour and it is rather beautiful. It will work on a range of different themed cards. You can visit her blog here  I teamed up the image with Chloe's petal stamps again. I know, I know but I think they are stunning flowers. The sentiment is by dreamees and adds that final touch.

Stamping Bella stamps

Good evening friends, followers and visitors! I can't believe it's February already! I have recently purchased A LOT of Stamping Bella stamps (an American company) easily distinguished by the blue rubber they use for there stamps! I must say the Uptown girls series is my absolute favourite! I have been eyeing these stamps up for a good number of months now. I have only just been able to purchase them. So I stamped and stamped and eventually made a few cards...

My first stamping Bella card using "Faith the fairy" and the matching sentiment. I have added a net trim from my stash and an organza bow made with the bow maker.

In my next card I have used "Abigail the Artist" and the matching sentiment. I have added a pleated trim from my stash and matched a bow with a heart button and parcel string to finish.

This card features "Isabelle loves ice cream" and the matching sentiment. I have matched up a tattered lace ice cream sundae die. I have finished with polka-dot organza ribbon and a satin bow.

Finally we have "Fiona loves flowers" and the matching sentiment. I have added buttons and bows as I made this card specifically for my group's challenge #‎CRAFTY_HINTS

All images have been hand coloured with Faber Castell polychromos pencils they have then been blended with BABY OIL... (Yes really!) The skin tones are done with pro markers... I still haven't figured out how to get a nice skin tone with the pencils (sob). That wraps things up for tonight thanks for popping by!

Mdf Madness

Good morning friends, followers and visitors! Oh I have had some relaxing therapy with my new love of mdf crafting! Dreamees have recently started selling mdf shapes that can be painted, decorated and embellished. I fell in love with the idea of creating something that is beautiful for display and can be personalised. So I bought THREE mdf kits from Dreamees via Create and craft.

Let me first start by saying how good value for money they are. The quality is really good. The kits came with stamp sets too - again added to the value for money. In one kit you receive an alphabet set; when I opened the package I was amazed at the size they were a lot bigger than expected and they stamp perfectly. (Dreamees stamps always do!) furthermore in another kit you get a good variety of shapes to decorate. I found this perfect as this is my first time crafting with mdf. It has allowed me to try something new without worrying about my purse! Yippee!

Now let me show you my first project done with the kits.

This is a hanging tag that I did for my daughter, backed with pattered paper and distressed around the edges using distress inks. I used dreamees flower stamps and embellished with a dazzler. I personalised using a zig writing pen.

My second mdf project here is a hexagonal frame backed with American crafts paper. the frame itself has been backed with bazzill bling card-stock and distressed with ink. I have embellished using dreamees flower stamps onto vellum that has been coloured with pro markers. I added some flat back pearls to finish. The text has been made using the alphabet stamp set and inked up with memento. I have applied a varnish using mod podge gloss.

Crafty Challenge - Emma's hints, Tips and crafty Inspiration

Good evening and a very late happy new year! I have one crafty make to share with you all that I have made specially for a crafty challenge in my favourite craft group Emma's hints tips and crafty inspiration for members only. The theme is anything goes so I made a 3D paper hand bag! I made it out of left over card board packaging. It was already folded and I saw it as a bag template. I have used a mixture of Dreamees stamps, tattered lace butterfly, lattice bow embossing, Marianne swirls and a tonic sentiment. This project took 3 evenings to complete. It now hangs happily on my wall as a display piece :) visit the Group blog  and join us thanks for popping by!
